Nuremberg has been a toy city of world renown for over 600 years, its tradition stretching from the doll makers of mediaeval times to outstanding tin figure manufacturers and numerous tin toy producers in the industrial age, up to the International Toy Fair, the world’s most important trade fair of its kind.
Nuremberg Toy Museum in the very heart of the Old Town shows extraordinary exhibits: Dolls, toy shops, tin figures and tin toys, traditional wooden toys and a large model train. Lovers of modern toys will also get their money’s worth: the exhibition includes toys of today such as Lego, Barbie, Playmobil or Matchbox.
There is also a children’s area with child care and a large playground outside.
